Notes:
I'm teaching full-time at Biola this year, for the first time. So I spend most of the work week on campus. I live close enough to walk, which I do sometimes.
MATH 120: Nature of Mathematics. A general ed class for non-math majors, "selected topics in mathematics with consideration of historical development and related philosophical issues." Both sections have about 100 students in them. The Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning section meets in Mayers Auditorium in Marshburn Hall, and the Monday, Wednesday afternoon section meets in Bardwell 112.
CSCI 104: Nature of Computing. Another general education class, for non-computer science majors, "the history of computing machines. Computer logic and binary arithmetic. Elementary concepts of computers. Elementary BASIC programming. Societal impact of computers." Meets in Metzger 100, the classroom with 23 Windows XP computers in them. There are about 21 students.
CSCI 105: Introduction to Computer Science. The first semester class for Computer Science freshmen. Math majors also need to take this class. My section only has 8 students, none of them CS majors.
FYS: First Year Seminar, a fun 8-week course for brand new freshmen, about campus life, how to survive college, etc. Lasts through October 18. I have about 10 students.
BUSN 453: "Internet Marketing Technologies" For five weeks of the semester, I'm doing a seminar for business majors about how to create web pages. I'll be doing this Sept 28, Oct 5, 12, 26 and November 2.
