Picture of an Iceberg

Update (Sept 21, 2002): This picture is a FAKE!  Thanks to an anonymous reader for alerting me to this fact. Oh well, I guess even I can fall for hoaxes and fakes sometimes :-)

My Aunt Sue sent me this picture of an Iceberg along with some of the descriptions:

Hi Matthew, we just got this awesome picture, and would love to forward it to Andy and Kristen, but don't know if their computer would be able to download it or not: or if they'd even appreciate getting it. Sure shows God's incredible handiwork!!

A friend sent this amazing picture to me and I thought you would enjoy it too! I have also included the comments that were sent with it.

EVER SEE AN ICEBERG FROM TOP TO BOTTOM?
This is awesome! This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling in
St.Johns, Newfoundland. They actually have to divert the path of these things away
from the rig by towing them with ships!
Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm & the sun was almost
directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and
click this picture. Clear water huh?! They estimated the weight at 300,000,000
tons.

And now we also know why they say one picture is worth 1000 words....
