Street Skiing

Summer 1999

One fine day in the summer of 1999, Mark S and Bryan Canepa were bored. They had an old set of skis (belonging to Matt Mroczka, actually), and decided to try skiing on the pavement.
 

   They took turns driving Mark's 1983 Toyota up and down my street.
 
 

One-handed!



 

It was kind of noisy, going down the street. I think our neighbors weren't all that thrilled with the idea. I told Mark and Bryan to go on some other street for a while.

It turned out to be pretty fun, but what was that burning smell? The skis didn't fare too well:
